www.utalkmarketing.com is the first free community site for marketers, by marketers in the UK. It’s for people who are passionate about marketing, whether you're a graduate trainee or a grizzled industry veteran. Our mission is to fuel your passion for marketing by bringing the latest news to inform you, ads to inspire you, forums and comment to challenge you. The site is driven almost entirely by user generated content; we publish case studies and how to articles from all marketing disciplines, across all business sectors. You are invited to upload your own work, such as ad campaigns you are really proud of, or case studies that may be of use to your peers. You can also upload press releases to the site.
Founded by a group of marketing professionals, utalkmarketing takes the insiders view. Because we understand what marketers do, and the challenges they face every day, our writers produce more relevant content, and spark more interesting debate. Some 120,000 marketers have already joined the utalk marketing community.
Utalkmarketing is a privately funded company backed by The Creative Capital Fund which launched in January 2007. It is led by Niall McKinney, who started his marketing career back in 1999 at Procter & Gamble. He then moved to IPC Media as Marketing and Publishing Director. He turned around the NME, winning the Marketing Society’s ‘Young Marketing of the Year’ in 2003 for his work. He then launched Nuts magazine, and was awarded ‘Best Launch of the Year’ at the CIM Marketing Effectiveness Awards in 2005. Most recently Niall decided to take up the position as Chief Marketing Officer at Lastminute.com. However, feeling frustrated at the existing poor trade press and seeing a gap in the market for user generated content, he decided to launch www.utalkmarketing.com
